Cambridge runner completes 100 km 'ultramarathon'

CAMBRIDGE -- Lisa Leskien of Cambridge had quite a run last week.
She represented Canada at the International Association of Ultra Runners 100-Kilometre World Cup in Belgium. She finished 138th among 202 runners who finished the race, completing the gruelling run in a time of 9:30:30.
Another 69 runners didn't finish. Leskien, 29, a member of the Cambridge Harriers running club and a teacher at Prince Charles School in Brantford, was one of six Canadians in the race in Torhout, a town an hour outside of Brussels.
Yasukazu Miyazato of Japan was the top male finisher with a time of 6:40:43. Kami Semick of the United States was the first woman to cross the finish line. Her time was 7:37:23.
